Dr. Alice Marczewski
Dr. Alice Marczewski graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. A Bachelor of Science degree in the double major of Agronomy and Biochemistry prior to that allowed her to work at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. for 2 years before returning to Michigan to pursue her veterinary education. She has been caring for animals throughout the greater Detroit area since that time, and has gained a strong appreciation for the bond between people and their pets. Dr. Alice feels that compassion, communication and education are the most important factors in helping you make the best decisions for your pet's care.
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Marczewski's email address is dralice@jeffersonvet.com.

Dr. Timothy A. Schacht
Dr. Timothy A. Schacht has been employed in animal care in the Detroit area since 1975. Dr. Schacht is a 1985 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the Southeast Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Schacht feels a special affinity for the community. His articles have been featured in area newspapers and he enjoys the opportunity to speak to small groups. He has been recognized by the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association "for outstanding contribution to the community". Therese (Office Manager): Our new Office Manager joined our staff in September, 2008.   She enjoyed working the last 7 years in veterinary emergency , but was looking for a change.  She is superiorly qualified to run our veterinary hospital. She has been a licensed veterinary technician for 27 years ,and she is married and  the mother of four children.  She has  three dogs at home, Gunther, Gladys, and  Guido who round out her busy life.

 

 

   
Christine (Licensed Veterinary Technician) :has been an employee since June 2002. Christine has five dogs: Lucy (Border Collie), Roxy, Gizmo, Zariel and Tyler, which are shepherd mixes, as well as a three legged Norwegian Forest Cat named Hop-a-long Cassidy, and two other cats, Dru and Ody. Christine enjoys working at Jefferson Veterinary Center because she feels it's a unique environment where one can learn different techniques than at the emergency clinic where she also is employed. "When I started working at Jefferson Veterinary Center, I was just looking for a second job, but what I found was another home. My co-workers/friends make it a wonderful environment to work in." Christine's special interests are Emergency Care and Rehabilitation.

Debbie (Receptionist): Debbie is a working mom who takes time away from her daughters and husband to take care of our clients at JVC. Debbie's little Chihuahua, Paco, has taught her the joys of pet ownership.  She has been one of the delightful voices and friendly faces at the front desk since April, 2007.  She enjoys the diversity of clientele here and the adventures that each day holds.
Sue ( Receptionist: started working at JVC in June of 2008.  Sue has had animals around her for her entire life.  She and her brother brought home any and every imaginable animal; stray dogs, squirrels, garden snakes, pigeons and, even, a duck.   She now has three dogs--Daisy, a rat terrier (pictured with Sue), Miles, a Boxer, and BJ, a mixed breed who was a stray.  Sue enjoys the diversity of the clients, the everyday surprises the job brings, and, of course, her fellow staff members at JVC.

 

  Chrissy (Receptionist): Started working at JVC in February 2007. Chrissy has a white toy poodle named Gucci and a Black DSH cat named Nigel, which was adopted from the clinic. She is also a mother of a beautiful daughter. "I enjoys working here because of the animals and my wonderful co-workers."
   
 Tamra (Veterinary Assistant): Tamra has been employed here since May of 2007.  She is excited to be working with animals and hopes to someday be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.   "I am earning invaluable experience working at JVC that will benefit me and my career goals!" Currently, Tamra is pursuing a degree in pre-veterinary medicine at Wayne State University and spends her spare time with her family companion, Bruin.  Bruin is a black Labrador/Retriever mix and is seven years old.
   Randy (Veterinary Assistant, Handyman, Janitor, Security Guard, Bodyguard, and friend of animals)  Randy is a retired Master Sargent from the United States Air Force.  After that career, he decided to pursue what he really loved, which is working with animals.  He shares his talents with Jefferson Veterinary Center and his family and pets--Dolomite (pictured on home page with Dr. Schacht), Darla (an exuberant mix), and cats, Little Girl, Batman, Punky, and Lucky.
Anny (Veterinary Assistant) Anny came to Jefferson Veterinary Center in September of 2008. She spent her time before coming here working at the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Her family at home consists of Lola, a husky mix she brought home from the shelter, Kendra and Freddie (pictured with her), her cats, and a flock of hens named Libby, Dorthy, Eleanor, and Betsy who give her fresh eggs every morning. She is currently adding to her education by pursuing her Veterinary Technician's license at Wayne.
Lurene (Veterinary Assistant) Lu came to Jefferson Veterinary Center in September of 2009.  Her  previous job experience was at Animal Clinic East.  She is the mother of three children and enjoys spending time with them.  She soon will be a grandmother for the first time.  In her spare time she enjoys playing  pool.   She would like to further her education and pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician.
